Siamese Cat
Siamese cat’s memory. In the old kingdom of Siam the noble white cat lives in the palace. It wears the dark mask on her face and the dark gloves on her slender paws. It sits by the precious porcelain vase very still like a statue of the Eternal One in the temple. Suddenly her big dark ears twitch. Light footsteps approach from the depth of the great building. The cat knows it’s her princess.
She turns her head towards the doorway and the young girl enters in the cloud of light from the lantern she’s holding. Her head is held high by the numerous golden rings encircling her neck. She stops before the cat and her small olive hand heavy with the rings slides gently down the warm silky coat. Cat’s sapphire eyes meet slanted black eyes of the princess. Cat feels that her mistress is sad today. In one swift soundless leap she gets to the floor and follows the girl to the fragrant night garden. There they settle down together gazing silently at the large stars both lost in their memories.
